Prayer = Magic Formula??
HELLO TO ALL!!!!! hehe...
Today is a good day, Manage to kind of clear up the mess i mention earlier. Though i think things didn't turn out very well, but look on the bright side, it didn't turn out very bad too. So, i'm contented. =) Anyway... I went for dance practise today. My cell and i are dancing for this evangelistic event at Eternallife assembly. So anyone who wants to bring your prechristian friends along do contact me k? or rather anyone who wants to go can contact me too.. hehe..Well.. Guess today i was just doing some reflection and i realise how fortunate i am to be chosen to be in the kingdom of God. Many times i fail to see the love, grace and mercy of God. Many times i've disappointed him but God is still willing to give me this priviledge to be His child, i mean PRECIOUS child.Amen? hehe..
For those people out there who are reading this and have not yet to know who Jesus is, you must really find out. I was a buddist for 17 years of my life and 3 years ago i recieved Jesus into my life. I must really say that my life change after knowin the true God. CURIOUS?? Wanna know MORE?? Feel free to tag and i'll share more ya? and i'm sure my friends who are reading this will be willing to share why they have chosen to accept Jesus into their life too. God loves each and everyone of us."For God so loved the world that He gave His only son(Jesus) so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 Jesus said in the bible: "Behold i stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, i will come in to him" Revelation 3:20 Jesus is waiting for each and EVERYONE of us. If one day you find yourself curious to know more about Jesus, Jesus is knocking.. Open up your heart to Him and you won't regret it.. (I never once did..)
Anyway...I just finish my quiet time and as i was doing my quiet time i was reading this prayer book and i thought there are so many things that i really wanna share with you guys.. let me just quote from the book first k?
"God is waiting for us to stop whining and start trusting with thanksgiving. Praise and thanksgiving is the fountain from which pure prayers flow. It it the heart of prayer.
We are not just reciting a magic formula. We are not just seeking to get our way. Rather, we are realigning ourselves with the purposes of God and saying to God, 'Heavenly Father, I surrender to you. You lead on - I will follow. Because the battle belongs to you'"
Wow... guess when i was reading it i just felt that ya indeed there are times when i pray i didn't really believe in my heart and that i kind of doubted God's ability. I stil try to hold on to the situation instead of surrendering into God's hands. The book went on the say..
"The impetus of prayer is seeing the face of God and taking the hand of God. You cannot take the hand of God until you are able to let go of yourself as the center of gravity. Let go of always being in control; let go of yourself being on the throne. Let go of trying to solve the problem with your own limited resources and failing to tap into the immense, umlimited resources of God. Through mighty prayers, based on solid theology, let us establish with joy a relationship that is constantly growing deep in GOd- even throught the trials of life"
Hope you guys have benefited as much as i have from these passages... Better get to studying.. i have a test at 8am tomorrow morning... tata... =)
